Data Engineer Role OverviewPrepare data for analytical or operational uses within a data warehouse. The data engineer is typically responsible for building data pipelines to bring together information from different source systems. The data engineer will integrate, consolidate, and cleanse data and structure it for use in analytics applications. They will aim to make data easily accessible and to optimize their organization's data for use in Power BI.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Designing and implementing data transformations, ingestion, and curation functions within a Snowflake environment. Responsible for all CI CD pipeline deployments.
- Build data models and table structures within Snowflake from various source systems, SAP, Workday, and other applications.
- Monitor, enhance, and improve processes across the technical solutions that feed the data warehouse through various systems.
- Optimizing data pipelines for performance and cost solutions.
- Administration and management of all users' access to the various tools in the landscape, including DBT, Snowflake, and DevOPS.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor' Degree in Business/IT/Computer science required.
- Master's degree in computer science, or business analytics is a plus.
- Five to seven years of experience in data analytics, data transformation, and data modeling.
- Strong in database management and data modeling fact and dimension tables.
- Data vault modeling design and experience.
- Previous experience as a data engineer on a startup Data Platform project.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, tools, and techniques.
- Strong knowledge and experience with GIT OPS.
- Knowledge of DBT software would be a plus.
- Certifications in a cloud platform would be a plus, AWS preferred.
- Working knowledge and experience in Agile methods.
- SQL and Python experience or education.
