Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To effectively and efficiently provide repair service within an assigned territory to all vendors, coolers, fountain, and other designated equipment. To provide exceptional customer service while representing PBV with each customer. To learn PBV operations, specific industry equipment, repair processes and governmental guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Provides "Service that Sells." Interacts with customers daily to diagnose, educate and support while ensuring customer expectations and PBV business objectives are met.
  • Possesses advanced skill set of Beverage Equipment Service Technician B.
  • Maintains and manages equipment, including diagnostics and repair, replacing parts, testing components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
  • Meets Pepsi-Cola North America (PCNA) quality objectives, to include Preventative Maintenance (PM) performed and Reactive Repair (RR) to drive revenue.
  • Uses Hand-held Computer to ensure accuracy of call detail, parts management, equipment location, and work performed.
  • Reviews daily activity to re-assign work within territory.
  • Manages and controls truck operation, cleanliness, and parts inventory. Meets commercial vehicle regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum (2) two years' experience in beverage equipment repair or related field (small appliance, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration).
  • Coursework in aforementioned fields may substitute for experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to meet PBV's driving guidelines, valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Must be able to travel daily to assigned accounts. Overnight travel may be required.
  • Proficient understanding and knowledge of electrical components, electronics, plumbing, board level schematics, refrigeration, vending/fountain equipment repair, parts and troubleshooting.
  • Attention to detail, patience, and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including needs assessment, quality standard and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Public safety and security knowledge of relevant equipment, policies and procedures for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions preferred.
  • Capable of gaining understanding of Food Service personnel responsibilities.
  • Ability to grasp and understand the functionality of SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to coach and train others preferred.


ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

Mental Functions

Repetitive job requiring frequent, but not more than normal mental or visual effort or alertness.

Physical Functions

Frequently (33% - 66%) sit. Occasionally (0%-33%) required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, bend, reach, pull, and lift up to 30 lbs. This position requires good eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform close-up work. This position requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

EQUIPMENT USED

General office equipment, Handheld computer, vacuum pump, refrigerant recovery unit, refrigerant and micron gauges, refrigerant scale, tube swage tools, flaring tool set, MAPP gas torch, portable oxy acetylene torch, ultrasonic and halogen leak detectors, electrical testing meters such as a digital voltmeter, clamp-on Amprobe, microfarad tester, infrared non-contact thermometer, basic handheld, and power tools. Laptop/Desktop computer.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

None required.

Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.
