Description:
At Merz our people and strategy help us deliver the industry's most successful top-down, bottom-up investment processes. We're currently seeking an experienced IT SAP Business Consultant- FICO who can add a fresh, unique perspective to our team. In this role, the consultant will work closely with the global Finance organizations at Merz, to understand their needs, leveraging SAP's (ECC and S/4) capabilities, with focus on FICO module as well as integration points with SD and MM, and integration with 3 rd party applications such as Concur and Vertex. Will design, implement, and optimize solutions that enhance business processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Relationship Management - Develop business relationships with the Finance Process owners and subject matter experts.
- Conduct workshops and meetings to understand existing business processes, pain points, document business requirements and write functional specifications.
- Identify and discuss potential process improvements based on understanding of Industry/Merz best practices
Solution Design and Configuration - Design and Configure the SAP FICO module: FI - General Ledger, Accounts Receivable & Collections, Accounts Payable, Asset Accounting, Interface with External Tax Systems and Consolidations. Experience with banking, cash applications, ACH, Lockbox. CO - Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing (Product Cost Planning, Cost Object Controlling and Actual Costing) and Profitability Analysis (COPA).
Vendor Selection, Implementation and Project Management - Lead small projects and participate in implementation of larger SAP projects, including planning, scoping, configuration, data migration, documentation, testing, and go-live activities.
- Manage process of selecting new solutions, RFP's, vendor demos and evaluations as well as supporting implementation.
- Support change control process per Merz' SDLC, managing our AMS partners.
Integration and Collaboration - Collaborate with IT cross-functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, etc), Enterprise Architecture team, Project Management office, Support team and technical integration's teams to ensure robust, best in-class solutions that ensure seamless integration between other SAP modules and 3 rd party applications.
Testing, Training and Support - Perform and document testing and coordinate testing with end users. When needed ensure validation documentation is created, approved, and executed.
- Working closely with the Training team, create training materials and provide training to end-users and business process owners
- Provide tier 3 level support and troubleshoot issues.
Education - Four-year degree in Computer Science / Information systems or related discipline.
Experience and Qualifications - 5 years' experience in a position of equal scope and responsibility
- Strong understanding of Finance, Controlling, Consolidation and its interactions with Sales and distribution as well as Supply Chain
- Extensive knowledge and experience with SAP FICO module and integrations with Vertex and Concur
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and migration projects from ECC to S/4HANA preferred
- Experience in multinational environments where template governance is enforced is strongly preferred
- Knowledgeable with Order to Cash and Procure to Pay process and key integration points with FICO and cash applications
- Expertise in pharmaceutical or medical device industries preferred
Skills - Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and workload planning skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to develop and visually present ideas and concepts to both IT and business stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
