A Brief Overview

The Global Medical Affairs Medical Information and Scientific Communications (MISC) Intern will supporting the execution of scientific communications and medical information initiatives. Reporting to the Director of MISC, this role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical aesthetics industry, contributing to meaningful projects that enhance the visibility of Global Medical Affairs’ scientific innovation. The intern will support in developing content for the Medical Information Request Platform (IRMS) and digital scientific communications such as infographics, publication infographics, plain language summaries and more. This is a unique opportunity within the Medical Aesthetic Pharmaceutical Space.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Communication Support:

  • Assist in the creation and dissemination of scientific literature via omnichannel communication materials.
  • Contribute to the development of educational campaigns to inform internal collaborators regarding scientific and medical updates and publications.

Content Coordination:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for MISC assets.
  • Assist in the creation of infographics, and other social assets that simplify complex scientific data for diverse audiences.
  • Support consistent messaging aligned with Global Medical Affairs’ vision and mission.
  • Coordinate with internal collaborators to identify storytelling opportunities that highlight Merz Aesthetics’ leadership in innovation.

    Project Management:

    • Track and manage timelines for communication initiatives.
    • Assist in coordinating with third-party vendors for content development, analytics, and other project needs.

    Education (Preferred Majors)

    • Required:
      • Rising Junior & Rising Senior in a Bachelor’s Degree (in life sciences discipline with relevant communications-related experience)

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Required:
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
      • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
      • Interest in the pharmaceuticals, aesthetics, or healthcare industry.
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
      • Strong research and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
      • Understanding of medical or scientific terminology and trends.
      • Preferred:
        • Interest in communication, digital graphics or infographics
        • Familiarity with omnichannel communication and the pharmaceutical industry
