Maximus is hiring for a Lead Windows System Administrator to join our team and to provide reliable and resilient technology resources for scientific and research teams who solve challenging environmental health and safety concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As a lead system administrator, you oversee a high performing team, who builds, develops, configures, and maintains physical and virtual Windows-server based infrastructure. Additionally, you will configure, build, and maintain management platforms such as Windows System Center Configuration Manager, Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM), Solarwinds, and ServiceNow.

Work commonly involves: Building and maintaining baseline server versions; building, testing, and maintaining security objects (ie; Group Policy); patch management; Tier 3/4 escalation support for help desk team; interfacing with enterprise services teams (developers, storage provisioning, network, security), and supporting enterprise environments including responding to service outages and other problems; Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems configurations and enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

* Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

* Must be able to commute to the on-site location in Morrisville, NC.

* Technical Degree (B.S.) in computer science, information technology, or closely-related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for education requirement in a year-for-year manner.

* 7+ years of experience as a systems administrator, preferably in a Windows and Virtualization-centric environment.

Preferred Key Skills and Abilities:

* Demonstrated ability to design, configure, and manage baseline server environments based on Windows operating systems.

* Demonstrated experience with Automation tools such as Powershell, Ansible, Python scripting.

* Demonstrated troubleshooting acumen and supporting Tier 3/4 escalation.

* Demonstrated experience with Federated Active Directory management.

* Proven experience with Solarwinds, Microsoft SCCM/MECM, ServiceNow, Infoblox DDI (or related DDI platform), Atlassian Suite, and M365 tools.

* Windows certifications (Azure Fundamentals, Engineer) and VM certifications are strongly preferred

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
