Description:

The Regional Operations Specialist will work closely with our Operations Manager, Warehouse team members, as well as the Sales team to support daily operations across multiple distribution centers. This role ensures that all supply chain, and distribution activities are efficiently coordinated, customer requirements are met, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards are maintained. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Essential Position Functions:
  • Provide Operations support and guidance to Operations Management across multiple distribution centers.
  • Manage customer billing process for assigned branches, including investigating discrepancies and providing solutions.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes and systems development, proposing and implementing efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
  • Serve as the escalation point for resolving issues related to outbound or inbound processing, ensuring turnaround time objectives are met.
  • Complete Inventory receiving and cycle counts for assigned locations. Lead the team in the process when not physically onsite.
  • Partner with the operations team in developing and/or managing operational metrics and measurements to ensure operations and costs are managed to and achieving targeted metrics and goals.
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with teams at assigned branches.
  • Facilitate the research of procurement issues and collaborate with purchasing department for timely resolution.
  • Research and resolve supplier invoicing quantity discrepancies related to receiving and provide accounts payable support.
  • Continuously evaluate and provide possible solution to improve operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Streamline operations with a focus on fulfillment, inventory, and intra-branch communications to improve customer service.
  • Deliver results in the areas of safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Be highly visible to employees, create a safe environment for participation and promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving.
  • Assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures to improve operations, training, executing strategic plans and goals.
  • Travel to assigned branches to provide guidance and support, lead training on new initiatives and systems.
  • Manage branch operations when Operations Manager is out of office.
  • Provide order management support, based on application of business process and systems' data knowledge.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Assist with safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a distribution environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of asset/inventory management.
  • Customer service experience preferably dealing with the time sensitive delivery of services.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and meeting deadlines as set by management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
