- SERVE: Many of our products are sold directly to the federal government. We were pioneers of “base supply centers, ” stores on military bases that employ the blind and visually impaired and provide mission-critical supplies to our nation’s military.
- SUPPORT: We want to end blindness forever. To that end, we engage in philanthropic efforts for research into blindness and treatment for the visually impaired.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Manager, 4PL Furniture Program works cross-functionally within all potential divisions of LCI as well as with Furniture Manufacturers and Partners in support of the multi-million-dollar 4PL Contract Furniture Program. This role requires wide latitude in determining approaches and solutions to day to day challenges involved in ongoing projects of this size and complexity. Role requires the ability to make solid independent decisions on a dynamic basis.

Hybrid Durham, NC or Remote
50-60% Travel
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pre-Qualify initial inquiries & leads for furniture program. Distribute to appropriate solution program or partnership for advancement.
- At time of advancement, communicate next steps and clear expectations with all parties, from cradle to grave.
- Ensure receipt of weekly reports from furniture partners are received and complete. Distribute data to all parties internally to keep fully informed.
- Regular inspection, calls and or meetings as needed to confirm that all next steps are advancing with no obstacles; Trouble shooting & remediation of any challenges timely.
- Audit ongoing, time tables committed to by all parties are observed and honored. Should changes be required, that they be communicated in a timely way with both the LCI customer and Base location managers.
- Develop, generate and manage project reporting, ensuring service excellence.
- Monitor and work collaboratively with LCI furniture team and business development teams to include: 1)Sales Director, Project Managers, and LCI BDM’s 2) BSC Servmart Store locations, 4PL Regional, District, Store Managers, to provide feedback/input as to when/how new products should be introduced to grow LCI furniture business.
- Should modifications be required, communicate, collect and submit documents timely to LCI departments managing the contracts.
- Regularly determine corrective actions or changes in processes to reverse or improve experiences.
- Maintain continual LCI top account contact, to help ensure customer account satisfaction and ensure lines of communication remain open for growth opportunities.
- Continual liaison between LCI sales, LCI retail 4PL team and LCI partners.
- At close of projects, inspect sign off documents by customer and confirm to LCI finance department, thereby activating: 1) Billing of customer 2) Receiving of invoices by partners for payment.
- Ensure complete contract compliancy.
- Research discrepancies in partnership with accounts receivable in customer account payment disputes.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Four Year College Degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience that includes exposures of:
- Direct outside sales experience and/or project-based responsibility for coordination oversight and tracking, from cradle to grave, of sales cycle project completion stages-through sign off.
- Minimum of 3 years of selling to the Federal Government
- Minimum of 3 years selling/working with furniture industry.
- The experience of building and maintaining customer relationships while navigating tight deadlines, communication of unforeseen delays, overcoming objections etc.
- working with packaged office goods and housing furniture solutions that will involve multiple manufacturers in the federal and or military environment
- Comprehensive understanding of terminology and contractual compliances often found in federal government contracts, GSA Schedules and corresponding FAR’s, including supply chain, CONUS and OCONUS.
- Negotiation Skills
- Ability to independently make decisions & make recommendations for corrective actions to processes for the continued growth of the program.
- Working knowledge at medium to advanced levels of:
- Microsoft Office Systems such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Video Meeting platforms such as Teams, Zoom etc.
- Dynamics AX, a plus
