Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring for a CAT 988 / High Stacker Operator in our Dudley, NC Lumber Mill. As an Operator, you'll work with a group of your peers in a manufacturing environment operating lumber production equipment to fulfill customer demands in a growing industry.

This position pays a rate of $25/hr pending experience.

Schedule
  • Monday -Friday 7: 00am-5pm (2 Sundays a month will also be mandatory for log mound clean up)


What You Will Do
  • Operate the CAT 988, CAT 926 and backhoe, and mobile high stacker to unload log trucks, stack logs in the Log yard and feed the deck for the Sawmill. This position will also be used to breakout the Crane operator when needed during normal operation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and perform pre-shift inspections on the heavy equipment, including startup, shut down, and critical alarms.
  • Track the log rotation and maintain the upkeep of the log yard.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
  • Ability to work well on a team and communicate amongst teammates, when issues arise that need to be addressed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping on Heavy Equipment. Use MOE system to enter work orders for forklift needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience safely operating Heavy Equipment or similar equipment within a Manufacturing, Distribution, or Industrial Production Environment.
