Families & Communities Rising, Inc. is looking for a dependable Environmental Health Specialist who takes pride in caring for buildings and grounds. Your attention to detail and maintenance skills will help keep our classrooms and shared spaces ready for children, families, staff, and visitors each day. What You Will Do Clean and maintain classrooms, restrooms, offices, and shared spaces, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping surfaces. Follow a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule that works around building activities. Keep restrooms stocked and monitor cleaning supplies and equipment so replacements are ordered on time. Use and store cleaning products safely according to manufacturer instructions, Head Start requirements, and childcare sanitation standards. Remove trash and recycling and arrange special disposal when needed. Complete minor repairs within your skills and report other repair needs through the ChildPlus work order system. Keep grounds, entrances, exits, and walkways free of trash and debris, and address weather-related needs such as applying ice melt. Use appropriate safety signs and secure doors when buildings or spaces are no longer in use. Join the Center Director for weekly inspections of playgrounds, classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, offices, and storage areas. Communicate work order progress to the FCR Project Manager and complete other duties assigned by your supervisor.
