Description:

Position Summary:

Perform preventative maintenance, routine, and emergency repairs to systems and equipment. Maintains and services a plant's mechanical equipment. Being a Technician, Lead uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment. Conducts periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage. In addition, orders parts needed for replacement and coordinates with service providers to complete maintenance tasks. Uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track and document activities. Follows established safety procedures and regulations for hazardous materials handling. Being a Technician, Lead independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from manager.

Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties):
  • Oversee and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all rollforming equipment and plant machinery.
  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians; assign tasks, supervise work quality, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, parts inventory, and service logs.
  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure minimal disruption to manufacturing schedules.
  • Source, order, and manage spare parts and maintenance supplies inventory.
  • Recommend and implement equipment upgrades, improvements, or modifications for better efficiency and longevity.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff.
  • Participate in capital projects, machinery installation, and commissioning as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate's degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal forming or roll forming operations.
  • Strong electrical experience required.
  • Proven leadership experience in a maintenance or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, roll forming machines, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience with PLCs, motors, conveyors, and drive systems is a strong plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Use of hand and power tools, ladders, and industrial equipment.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and manufacturing environments.
