Description:

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead financial operations for one of our manufacturing facilities, with oversight of two additional smaller locations. This role will be responsible for end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, FP& A support, and intercompany management across multiple entities within the Metal Roofing Group. The position will partner closely with plant leadership, Director of Accounting - Metal roofing group and the corporate finance team to drive financial accuracy, operational insights, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Close Process
  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for three manufacturing locations
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Maintain integrity of the general ledger and enforce strong internal controls

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
  • Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis
  • Analyze production variances, material usage, labor, and overhead absorption
  • Partner with operations to improve cost visibility and drive efficiencies
  • Monitor inventory levels, reserves, and cycle count processes

FP& A & Business Support
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial performance analysis for all locations
  • Provide actionable insights on revenue, margins, and operating expenses
  • Support strategic decision-making through financial modeling and scenario analysis
  • Partner with plant managers and leadership on cost control and profitability initiatives

Intercompany & Consolidation
  • Manage intercompany transactions across multiple entities within and outside the division
  • Ensure timely reconciliation and elimination of intercompany balances
  • Coordinate with corporate accounting for monthly consolidation and reporting requirements
  • Support corporate requests, reporting packages, and audit requirements

Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff across multiple locations
  • Drive accountability, performance management, and professional development
  • Establish and standardize processes and best practices across sites

Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal control requirements
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Systems & Process Improvement
  • Utilize ERP systems (e.g., D365 or similar) to streamline accounting and reporting processes
  • Lead initiatives to improve data integrity, reporting automation, and workflow efficiency
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, or integrations as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
  • Experience with multi-site operations and intercompany accounting
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • ERP experience required (D365 & QuickBooks or similar strongly preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills
