Role Summary
Reporting to the Data Science Senior Manager, this role will work collaboratively with our marketing, sales, underwriting, and other matrix partners under Cigna's Health Services Company, Evernorth. The candidate will perform data exploration, feature engineering, statistical analysis to ultimately develop predictive models that drive B2B Sales, Marketing and Underwriting objectives. The Decision Science team focuses on modeling-based initiatives that improve prospect and client targeting, retention and cross sell. Our work is highly relevant and impactful to Sales & Marketing strategy and performance.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the team's development and maintenance of Machine Learning models (LightGBM and other Decision Tree-based models, Logistic Regression, etc.) that generalize well to new data
  • Connect to Sales, Marketing, Finance and Underwriting data, build data sets, perform statistical analysis and refine features
  • Design models and output that can be easily interpreted and consumed by non-technical stakeholders
  • Apply Test and Learn (A/B type or similar testing methods) to evaluate models prior to, and after, full implementation
  • Produce and maintain documentation on methods, code and models developed
  • Serve as technical and methodological SME and collaborative advisor for Sales, Marketing and Underwriting teams on statistical analysis and modeling initiatives
  • Communicate results/recommendations persuasively to achieve buy in and drive implementation from non-technical audiences

Qualifications
This position requires robust ML modeling acumen, expertise applying rigorous statistical methodology, as well as communication and advisory skills.
  • 5+ years' experience exploring data with Python and SQL and building refined data sets (AWS, Databricks environments)
  • 5+ years' applying statistical analysis and testing (T-Test, Chi Square, Confusion Matrix, F1 score, AUC)
  • 5+ years' predictive modelling experience developing models (LightGBM and other Decision Tree-based models, Logistic Regression, etc.) in Python (scikit-learn) required.
  • Knowledge of Sales and Marketing data preferred
  • Solid verbal communication and consultative skills
  • Ability to collaborate with non- technical teams/leadership, establish working relationships, and drive business decisions


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109, 100 - 181, 800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
