About the role

Reporting to the Director of EMEA Supply Chain and Production, the General Manager Supply France role will be critical in embedding processes and ensuring our TWE culture is embraced locally. As the French region is still growing, learning, and integrating towards our structure, this will offer the right candidate the opportunity to truly shape their area of the business, taking accountability for everything from growing to shipping (and everything in between!). Ultimately, you will plan, organise, and optimally manage the France vineyard and winery assets and 3rd Party Suppliers to meet the requirements of safety, cost, quality, and environment, whilst simultaneously delivering a portfolio of wines, and optimising Supply France operations to meet business objectives.

Some of the other responsibilities you will have:

  • Provide leadership to all France based Supply employees aligned to Global TWE DNA and meeting France/EU cultural/governance and compliance regulations.
  • Ensure French wider team (non-direct reports) are integrated and aligned with French business strategy to ensure one collaborative and cohesive French team, striving for common goals.
  • Management of external factors, such as climate and customer supply/demand, to deliver quality wines fit for purpose, to meet global demand.
  • Responsible for delivering Global TWE France Strategy.
  • Prioritise Penfolds brand requirements while executing optimal business results.
  • Oversight of high profile, highly complex and high value Capital projects within France.
  • Full accountability for setting and delivering annual OPEX & CAPEX budgets and achieving long-term financial objectives.
  • Work to French Regulations, TWE Standards, Regional and Site policies and guidelines to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors and build a culture of Safety first amongst all TWE France employees.
  • Ensure overall compliance with product quality and regulatory compliance of the wine portfolio.
  • Work with Penfolds and the FR winemaking team to ensure optimal classification and allocation of wine.
  • Oversee the production at winemaking facilities and for delivering of blended wine to packaging within agreed timeframes and specifications.
  • Manage the site’s sustainability programs in such a way that minimizes the site’s environmental footprint.
  • Guide and lead the development and implementation of strategic training and development programs in support of the People and Culture Team to enhance the skills and capabilities team members in region, specifically focussing on the unique needs of production-based team members.

About you

We are looking for a high performing Supply Chain professional with a strong operational background, and experience managing 3rd Party relationships. FMCG experience is desirable.

Other Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Extensive leadership, site management, and operational experience in manufacturing or production sites. Winery experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Extensive experience leading large teams across diverse groups of employees (10yrs +).
  • International experience mandatory.
  • Management of 3rd Party Contracts to ensure that all quality, cost, service and contractual requirements are met.
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiating skills with 3rd Party suppliers and customers.
  • Experience in initiating continuous improvement.
  • Fluent French & English verbal & written skills mandatory.
