The imminent launch of new brands in Lung and Bladder Cancer represents a significant landmark for the PL OpCo, as these medications necessitate the implementation of companion diagnostics to identify eligible patients. To facilitate the uptake of these J& J medicines, it is crucial to ensure national coverage across a wide customer base of new collaborators, as stated in a new national go-to-market approach. This model requires the integration of precision medicine activities within the field division. The Precision Medicine Manager will play a key role in referring HCPs to the above, striving to increase testing awareness and adoption. The PMMs will start visiting chief pathologists and clinical scientists in the main labs, both to gather insights and to reactively share non-promotional materials to support a wider uptake of genetic testing.
The Precision Medicine Manager position is a role with broad responsibility, to further develop the PL Diagnostic materials and strategy, building on existing initiatives and driving execution across multiple CVTs and field-division roles, using the cross-functional resources of each brand and further crafting precision medicine strategy to reflect PL needs and requirements.
The role is a field-based role, requiring in field presence on 60% of the working time. This requires ability to frequent travel, which may include overnight stays.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Lead Account Management Initiatives: Supervise account management tactics focused on molecular diagnostics and testing.
- Implement Centralized Marketing Strategies: Drive the deployment of centralized marketing initiatives related to molecular diagnostics and testing through effective account management.
- Update Precision Medicine Testing Heatmap: Gather and analyze insights from both secondary and primary sources to support the 4-As framework (Awareness, Availability Access & Adoption) under the mentorship of the Business Unit Lead, ensuring the tool is current and actionable.
- Conduct Insight Collation: Continuously collect insights directly from key accounts and by attending ad-hoc the Strategic Account Planning meetings with TAAs & MSLs, collating bottom-up insights to keep the PM Heatmap updated.
- Prepare for key congresses and conferences: Assist in the creation of materials and logistical preparation for Precision Medicine events sought and improving Johnson & Johnson’s presence and Share of Voice (SOV) in the industry.
- Support Upskilling initiatives for Precision Medicine: Chip in to developing materials and preparing learning initiatives focusing on making the PL organization PM-fluent through a
- phased plan (i.e., starting with Lung and Bladder Cancer).
- Coordinate Key Project Management tasks: Lead all aspects of relationships with consultants and agencies involved in significant projects, leading administrative tasks and ensuring project alignment with company goals.
- Communication with others outside J& J Innovative Medicine e.g. Key Local Opinion Leader (pathologists/oncologists/pulmonologists), most important Genomic Lab Hubs / Local Genomic Labs and their Direction, private commercial labs, if applicable, key Local Scientific Diagnostic Societies, Diagnostic & Testing partner companies.
- Communication with others within J& J Innovative Medicine (Country Value Teams, Commercial and Medical Teams), Patient Advocacy & Government Affairs Lead, Communications Lead.
- Ensure safety reporting requirements (timely AE/PQC reporting) as set out in company policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are met and appropriately managed when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors
- Ensure HCC and legal requirements (Fair Market Value, Transfer of Value rules, Promotional Materials rules) are fully understood, appropriately managed and complied with when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors
- Maintain in the highest standards of ethics, quality, compliance and accountability: compulsory training must be completed on time, she/he should act in accordance with the Quality & Compliance Core Objective, and help others do the same when there is an opportunity.
- Leverages own network of KOLs and key stakeholders to build and monitor company/ brand loyalty.
Requirements (knowledge, education, skills):
- Previous experience working in healthcare (e.g., pharmaceutical, diagnostic companies etc.) and must have the ability to assimilate sophisticated science and data quickly.
- Previous experience in molecular diagnostics in Oncology is preferred to support business development capabilities that strengthen industry relationships.
- Previous experience working with commercial labs with a proven understanding of molecular testing pathways is highly desirable
- Consistent track record of commercial experience / acumen working with cross-functional teams on sophisticated or ambiguous issues autonomously, with little/no daily direction.
- Marketing and launch experiences with brand responsibility are preferred.
- Strong background and experience in developing and implementing diagnostic strategy and materials for new products, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Oncology area would be an advantage and is highly desirable.
- Clear track record working with Key Opinion Leaders and external customers is preferred.
- The capability of delivering under time pressure and in ambiguous situations with limited information is key, showing agile and entrepreneurial leadership skills.
- Ability to provide succinct & insightful communications to senior management.
- Ability to absorb, summarize and transform extensive scientific data into clear actions.

- Awareness of and adherence to J& J Credo Values, SOPs, Policies and Guidelines.
- Advanced scientific degree is preferred (e.g. Biomedical Engineering, MD, PharmD) and MBA degree highly desirable. Moreover, validated experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotech/ diagnostic industry in dynamic leadership roles is required (prior experience in working in the diagnostics space is also highly desirable).
