The External Affairs Lead is a member of the CEESAT MedTech Board, functioning as a strategic collaborator, informs and supports the shaping the commercial strategy aimed at maximizing the opportunities for JnJ MedTech in CEESAT region. His/her strategic insights are grounded on the knowledge of regional healthcare ecosystems, policy, trends and guidelines.

This role provides also critical input into the global innovation agenda through gaining and assimilating customer insights to define key unmet needs, and through early, pro-active identification and assessment of evidence needs of different stakeholder within the countries for market registration, access & adoption.

This role is pivotal in leading key departments within the MedTech business, including Professional Education, Commercial Education, Medical Affairs, Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA), Governmental Affairs, and Business Compliance.

The External Affairs Lead reports to the CEESAT JnJ MedTech Managing Director.

You will be responsible for:

Supports Regional business leaders by

  • Understanding needs of the different clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in the healthcare environment and building strong relationships externally with key stakeholders (Strategic Accounts, Hospital Groups, Regulatory Agencies, Medical Societies, etc.) to drive business initiatives

  • building strong relationships and partnerships with customers, especially focused on the development of Key Opinion Leaders.

  • anticipating, evaluating and responding to competitive activity

  • seeking and establishing strategic partnerships to help drive core business areas

Ensures

that the evidence supporting J& J MedTech products and services is appropriate and sufficient for the Country market (ie for regulatory approval/clearance, health technology assessment, reimbursement, customer access, technology and service adoption, OBCs, medical safety and post‐marketing support) and is communicated well.

Shapes the innovation agenda by:

  • anticipating healthcare trends, policy and the evolving healthcare ecosystem

  • collaborating with the Global Franchise Medical affairs teams by providing critical input into the Global innovation agenda through gaining and assimilating customer insights to define key unmet needs

  • providing input to the evidence generation strategy through early, pro-active identification and assessment of evidence needs to address key stakeholders needs within the country for market registration, access and adoption

Executes all MedTech educational activities for external customers, in alignment with the JJMT strategic objectives.

  • Leading the Professional Education team to drive the development of educational pathways and programs, incorporating innovative and digital solutions and leveraging best practices.

  • align local activities with EMEA/WW educational activities as well as facilitating attendance at international educational training events and leveraging Regional/Global solutions.

  • Enables strong collaboration with multiple internal and external partners to assess and leverage innovative training technologies and models to meet Professional Education strategy objectives

  • Expertise & business acumen in a surgical field or in medical device industry.

  • Strong competence in Leadership Imperatives, with strong emphasis on Lead and Deliver.

  • Deep alignment with the J& J Credo

  • Effective presentation skills

  • Fluent English language
