Description:
The Senior Accountant - Family Office will ensure the integrity of accounting and reporting information for certain assets of the Washington family. This position works with minimal direction and applies appropriate accounting methodology to compile and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for these entities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Minimum two years of work experience in accounting
- CPA designation is preferred, but not required
- Must be detail oriented
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook
- Proven experience successfully multitasking
- Possess strong collaborative and communication skills
- Must be extremely reliable and trustworthy, and maintain confidentiality
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform daily, monthly and other periodic accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to preparing journal entries, spreadsheets, and account reconciliations; drafting financial statements and other projects as assigned.
- Responsible for the integrity of the general ledger and financial statements of assigned entities, ensuring a timely and accurate close is completed.
- Maintain various management and financial reporting schedules for the assigned entities including summaries of key budget to actual variances and tracking of capital expenditure costs.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets for the assigned entities.
- Prepare and/or review payment requests associated with the assigned entities.
- Coordinate with the tax team for the preparation of the year-end tax schedules and workpapers.
- Coordinate with the treasury team to forecast anticipated cash needs.
- Demonstrate commitment to Washington Corporation's mission, vision, and values.
