About This Job As an Occupational Therapist, you empower individuals to overcome physical, developmental, social, or emotional challenges. You design and implement personalized interventions that help patients achieve independence in all areas of their lives. This role significantly impacts patient well-being, enabling them to participate fully in meaningful daily activities and improve their overall quality of life within our supportive environment. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assesses patient functional abilities, limitations, and needs through comprehensive Patient Assessment and evaluation. Develops and implements individualized, evidence-based Treatment Planning tailored to patient goals and conditions. Guides patients in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including self-care, work, and leisure activities, to promote independence. Applies various therapeutic techniques, including Therapeutic Exercise, to improve strength, range of motion, coordination, and endurance. Facilitates comprehensive Rehabilitation programs that restore function and prevent disability. Maintains accurate, timely, and thorough Documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries. Engages in Interdisciplinary Collaboration with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care. Recommends, selects, and trains patients and caregivers on the proper use of Adaptive Equipment and assistive technology. Coordinates effective Discharge Planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients to their home or next level of care, including home exercise programs and community resources. Addresses and integrates strategies for Sensory Integration to help patients process and respond to sensory information more effectively. Required Qualifications Education Holds a Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Possesses current and unrestricted state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Montana. Maintains current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Experience Demonstrates experience in providing occupational therapy services across diverse patient populations. Knowledge/Skills Possesses a deep understanding of occupational therapy theory, principles, and practice. Applies strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills in patient care. Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective patient and team interaction. Demonstrates proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation standards. Shows a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Preferred Qualifications Holds specialty certification in a relevant area (e.g., Certified Hand Therapist, pediatric specialist). Possesses experience in a specific clinical setting, such as acute care, outpatient, or rehabilitation. Physical Requirements/Work Conditions Performs physical activities that require frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Lifts and assists patients with transfers and mobility, often requiring moderate physical exertion. Works in a dynamic clinical environment, which may include exposure to various patient conditions and situations. Demonstrates fine motor skills and manual dexterity for therapeutic interventions and equipment use.
