Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Process Engineer to join our process engineering team at Eichleay. In this position you will report into the Process Department Manager and will be based out of our office in Billings, MT. As a Senior Process Engineer at Eichleay you will work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment, supporting various clients and projects. This is a full-time position with benefits including a 401K match, Employer HSA contribution and a flexible work schedule with every other Friday off.

Compensation: $105, 000- $150, 000+ *anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity. The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting.

Do you enjoy getting involved in small to large projects collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and designers? At Eichleay you will perform design engineering for a variety of brown field and revamp facilities in the refining and chemicals industries. Design engineering consists of conceptual design, basic engineering, and detailed design for reimbursable & lump sum projects.

Your duties will include performing process simulations / studies, heat and material balances, process flow diagram (PFD) and piping & instrumentation diagram/drawings (P& ID) development, design calculations, hydraulics and line sizing, equipment data sheets/specifications, utility requirements/systems analysis, relief contingency analysis and pressure safety valve (PSV) sizing, process engineering reports, and proposal development. You may provide technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.

You will attend meetings and participate in client field visits as needed in the Billings area. You may be asked to travel on occasion outside of the area for other projects you support.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates awareness and commitment to health, safety, and environmental issues. Addresses those issues as necessary to ensure zero harm to all employees, clients, and contractors with zero environmental incidents.
  • Consistently achieves goals, delivers quality and accurate work, and meets timelines. This includes reviewing project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Able to apply extensive and diversified knowledge of Chemical Engineering principles to complete process engineering tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Develop process data sheets for stationary and rotating equipment including pressure vessels, tanks, separators, filters, heat transfer equipment, pumps, and compressors.
  • Work on major or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Able to work on all project phases from feasibility studies and conceptual design, to detailed design and construction support.
  • Serves as a technical specialist in one or more areas of refining or chemical facilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a schedule driven environment where timing is a critical function.
  • Effectively interacts with all levels of employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Contributes to proposal development and prepares hour estimates for Process scope of work.
  • Able to independently lead projects and manage budgets and resources for small to moderate projects.
  • Strong customer focus with commitment to building enduring relationships that yield customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ability to deal with change and demonstrate flexibility as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering (BSChE) from an ABET accredited program and 8 or more years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Chemical Engineering principles to complete process engineering tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience developing process data sheets for stationary and rotating equipment including pressure vessels, tanks, separators, filters, heat transfer equipment, pumps, and compressors.
  • Must have experience in relief analysis.
  • Travel to client sites for meetings and to collect site data as needed.
  • Travel to Eichleay offices as needed for in-person meetings.
  • Thorough knowledge of API, ASME and ANSI standards.
  • Simulation experience using HYSYS, PRO II or other comparable process simulation software.
  • Understanding of refinery or chemical plant unit operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Able to supervise/mentor a team of engineers and/or work independently.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Perform QA/QC on project deliverables before submitting to client.

Preferred Requirements/Skills:

  • Process engineering experience supporting refinery, chemical, and/ or mining projects.
