Maintenance Lead

Position Summary

The Maintenance Lead will oversee the Preventative Maintenance Program and to ensure that equipment is available when needed for operations all while developing and maintaining partnerships with vendors. The Maintenance Lead will lead the Maintenance Team in equipment repair and improvement activities throughout the facility by coordinating with production leads and supervisors to appropriately plan for equipment down time. The Lead will also oversee technicians in their daily work activities and assigns tasks via the PM Program to ensure service calls are responded to within 30 minutes. The lead will ensure the team maintains an organized work area to ensure all technicians work in a safe manner, have the right tolls and continue to Make it Better each and every day.

Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties):

• Ensure that all Facility and Production Equipment is properly maintained and functioning as needed when required
• Maintain and repair production equipment (presses, saws, tools, fixtures, etc.)
• Maintain and repair facility equipment (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc.)
• Design and weld simple fixtures and templates and other welding tasks
• Maintain and repair safety equipment (fire extinguishers, light curtains, safety guards etc.)
• Install and maintain electrical control circuits and PLC
• Analysis of problems and develop solutions
• Maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) program
• Perform other general maintenance task (change lightbulbs, assemble/move furniture, paint etc.)
• Organize and maintain maintenance area
• Maintain appropriate levels of spare parts for production and facility equipment
• Conduct a weekly audit of Preventive Maintenance Software to include adequate levels of parts inventory and any discrepancies in Work Order requests
• Adequately and evenly assign work to the team
• Maintain organization of parts, equipment and records
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines- including wearing proper PPE at all times
• Attend and constructively participate in Safety meetings and safety training
• Report all injuries to supervisor immediately
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other work groups, both within and outside of his/her department
• Participate in problem solving as directed
• Recommended ideas for continual improvement
• Keep area clean and free from excess clutter to ensure a smooth operation and desirable work conditions
• Understand and follow ISO procedures
• Maintain 5-S withing the Maintenance Department

Position Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Electrician Certifications or Journeyman Electrician required
• 10 years of manufacturing experience with focus on safety operating, repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of punch presses, saw, shears, break presses and other related equipment.
• Ability to be certified in forklifts, man-lifts and scissor lifts.
• Capable of installing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLCs and other control circuitry
• Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical blueprints
• Experienced in HVAC plumbing, lighting, etc.
• Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions read and follow prints and routers
• Ability to understand quality requirements and to monitor production
• Possess Basic Math skills
• Ability to learn new operations, become cross-trained, and rotate jobs

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically able to stand and walk during entire shift and able lift 50 lbs when needed.
