Summary

Supports installation of T-6A Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) 1T-6A-876. This TCTO modifies the T-6A Texan II aircraft to install the Automatic Backup Oxygen System (ABOS) in accordance with the Air Force Instructions (AFI), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.

Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting T-6A aircraft TCTO compliance.

Essential Functions
  • Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
  • Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Duties
  • Technical Directive compliance and modifications
  • Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
  • Document maintenance actions per AFI requirements
Qualifications
  • Must have experience with installation of electrical related TCTO/wiring modifications installations including wiring harness installation/repair. Airframes and Powerplants (A& P) certification with three or more years of experience is desired but not required.
  • An Avionics technician with extensive experience with wiring harness trouble shooting/replacement is an acceptable alternative to an Aircraft Electrician. Experience utilizing detailed blueprints/instructions desired.
  • Must be able to work, day, swing or mid shift as required
  • NACI and CAC required
Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation
  • $39.58/hour + $2.65 H& W
