Description:

IFG is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our Lumberton team.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

  • Responsible for the safe operation of heavy industrial forklifts
  • Fill out and follow loading diagrams; delete inventory tickets as units are shipped; print bills of lading
  • Operate forklift to load units of lumber onto trail cars and trucks
  • Set up dry and green lumber yard for efficient storage; maintain in an orderly manner
  • Be familiar with lumber storage yard for efficient movement of units; sort lumber to accomplish this
  • Keep records of loads ready for shipment; communicate trucks loaded with shipping office
  • At beginning of shift complete operator’s daily checklist
  • Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations
  • Keep work area clean – cleanup during any down time
  • Other tasks as requested

EDUCATION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Forklift certification- Preferred
  • 2+ years experience as a Forklift Operator
  • Ability to read and understand printed materials
  • Strong Math Skills
  • Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Willing to work a 12-hour shift, including weekends-when requested

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations, and airborne particles (sawdust).

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

As a condition of employment, Idaho Forest Group requires employees to complete a variety of pre-employment screening processes which may include, but are not limited to: criminal background check, drug and substance test, reference check, prior work verification, driving history (MVR), education verification, aptitude/skills testing, and credit checks.
