TriWest Healthcare Alliance is hiring a Application Developer Sr - Web in Kansas City, MO. This is a full-time position.

Job Summary

Functions in senior Web Developer role, responsible for designing, developing, testing, documenting and support of web-based applications in a fast paced environment. Works within project teams comprised of developers, systems engineers, database administrators, project managers, business analysts and customers to produce quality applications. Provides advanced functional and technical support to end users. Supports multiple system interfaces and troubleshoots integration issues. Other responsibilities might include development assistance for SharePoint, PeopleSoft, the Medical Management System, Oracle and the MSSQL Business Integration suite.

Education & Experience

Required:
o Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with courses in programming and database systems or equivalent work experience
o 4+ years of ASP.Net, #, TSQL, Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Business Integrations or higher, Oracle 11
o 4+ years web-based development and support experience

Preferred:
o 7+ years of Web-based application development and support experience using ASP.NET, #, HTML, JavaScript/JQuery, CSS, ADO.NET and SQL
o 3+ years of SOA/WCF/Web Services development experience
o Exposure to MVC, ADFS, LINQ, Entity Framework, BizTalk, SilverLight and WPF, SharePoint 2007 or higher, TCL, Crystal Reports 2008, PeopleCode.
o Skilled in proper database structure
o Skilled in refactoring to create re-usable and more efficient code
o Experience using the Agile / Scrum methodology.
o Healthcare industry experience

Key Responsibilities

Assists with the planning, organization and direction of all activities related to current and proposed applications.
o Investigates and recommends new tools and applications in support of business needs.
o Provides support and expertise to functional users to assist them in completion of their daily tasks.
o Coordinates with appropriate departments to ensure that necessary communication is occurring to allow the applications to function properly and efficiently.
o Participates in regularly scheduled project reviews and statuses with department representatives.
o Converts logical design into program code. Analyses, reviews and rewrites programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt program to new requirements.
o Performs complex coding assignments.
o Serves as a technical and functional resource to less experienced developers.
o Serves as project lead in teams of 3 or more individuals.
o Obtains and shares knowledge of how various application modules inter-link and affect one another.
o Obtains a good understanding of supported user functions and their use of the associated applications.

o Recommends changes in procedure in order to promote better utilization of application functionality.
o Analyzes, develops and supports multiple system interfaces and data integration.
o Researches the setup and functionality of each supported module and advises/assists functional users with questions and debugging of problems.
o Evaluates and tests vendor-supplied software packages. Determines compatibility with existing systems. Provides technical support and trouble-shooting for vendor software. Installs and tests vendor upgrades and patches.
o Coordinates the dissemination of information and reports related to application upgrades, fixes and new processes; to include analysis of the changes and the effects on the existing modules.
o Develops system and program test plans. Prepares and/or obtains test data. Conducts program and system testing. Evaluates test results. Debugs systems and programs.
o Oversees upgrade testing by users to ensure successful migration to new software versions.
o Implements training plans in order to instruct user personnel in the areas of program procedures.
o Prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development. Maintains user manuals, system design documents, and program documentation.
o Writes instructions to guide operating personnel during the use of online software and production runs.
o Performs reporting tasks utilizing site standard reporting tools.
o Serves as the system administrator and security administrator for assigned applications.
o Helps coordinate the workload assignments of external consultants.
o Logs, monitors, and manages event calls regarding reported problems.
o Coordinates change control and security requests.
o Monitors vendor web sites for new releases and product announcements or enhancements.
o Assists with database and operating system administration functions.
o Performs on-call support functions.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
o Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of applications development programming methodologies, concepts, and best practices #, ASP.NET, MVC, Javascript/JQuery, WCF, HTML, CSS, knowledge of applications development programming methodologies, concepts, and best practices; expert knowledge in system analysis, design and problem-solving skills; Leadership skills and collaboration skills; Advanced knowledge of the web-based applications implementation cycle, including business process modeling, tool installation, development, testing, and execution. Familiarity with SharePoint 2007, Crystal Reports, TCL coding, and PeopleCode a benefit.
