The Doe Run Company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator with CDL to properly operate a semi-truck with tanker and environmental sweeper truck in a safe and effective manner to support the operation. This dayshift position will be located at Semo Port in Scott City, MO.

The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid class A CDL with tanker endorsement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Mechanical aptitude to perform minor maintenance, greasing equipment, and other routine maintenance.
  • Perform preshift inspection of equipment.
  • Perform work area inspections.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment. Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Operation of semi-truck with tanker to mining trend transporting spent water and picking up supplies.
  • Offloading concentrates safely and efficiently to ensure delivery of concentrate to customers. Maintain cleanliness of the facility to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Conduct and document inspections of concentrate trucks to ensure the safety of the offloading process, complete the required documentation, and conduct a final inspection of the trucks transporting concentrate inspection form.
  • Communication with truck drivers and contractors regarding procedures, directing drivers through the offloading and truck wash process in compliance with company policy.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe and compliant manner, reporting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback for continuous improvement EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting:

  • Regularly working in wet, humid conditions (non-weather). Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, vibrations, and working near moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to moderate noise levels. Regularly required to wear PPE including but not limited to, hearing protection, eyewear, steel-toed boots, and high visibility.
  • Regularly requires driving; regularly requires sitting, talking, hearing, grasping, and repetitive movement. Occasionally requires feeling attributes of objects, standing, walking, reaching with hands/arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing or balancing. Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, and precise hand-eye coordination.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds. Rarely required to lift up to 75 pounds. Rarely required to lift up to 100 pounds.
