The Doe Run Company is seeking a Benefits & HR Administrator to provide support to the human resources function for benefits, human resources information systems, record management, recruiting and processing human resources records. Act as the primary contact with employees regarding leave requests. Provide new employee paperwork, complete data entry, and generate reports regarding employee data. This position is based out of our Central Office in Viburnum, MO.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR or benefit administration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, UKG, PeopleSoft, or other HRIS.
  • Well organized with the ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Basic knowledge of laws related to human resources, including FMLA, ADA, and EEO regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and administer FMLA, short and long-term disability leaves.
  • Process life insurance claims and assist employees with the claim process.
  • Enter and update employee information in the HRIS in a timely manner. Establish and/or follow audit procedures to ensure data accuracy.
  • Manage disposition & recording of HR/benefits records, I-9’s, electronic documents, etc. Create and maintain employee records in HRIS, SharePoint, etc. following established procedures to retain, archive, and purge records as needed.
  • Provide information and guidance to employee questions of a routine nature regarding job openings, company policy, and benefits. Escalate complex situations to the HR business partner, talent acquisition, or leader, as necessary.
  • Responsible for purchase orders, corporate p-card, monthly reporting.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to support business objects relevant to attraction, development, and retention.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Environmental Conditions, Physical & Lifting Requirements:

  • Regularly required to use a computer/tablet and phones/radios.
  • Work is generally performed in a standard office setting.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods, and to talk and hear; Frequently required to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movement. Requires clarity of vision and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Rarely required to lift 6-15 pounds.
