The Doe Run Company is seeking a Battery & Recycling Lead to coordinate production and maintenance activities within an assigned work area as well as perform operator tasks to meet production goals. This rotating position will be located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Knowledge of departmental operations, equipment, and processes.

  • Ability to oversee others’ performance and supervise work.

  • Willingness and ability to fill in for vacant positions as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Review department employees’ work product to ensure that it complies with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure the team meets department performance goals and completes necessary paperwork;
  • Report team member performance to supervisor.
  • Operate equipment and machines as needed to assist the team with production.
  • Report incidents, issues, and concerns to onsite supervisor and/or department supervisor in a timely manner with detailed information.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting:

  • Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear and work near moving, mechanical parts Frequently required to work in wet, humid conditions and exposed to moderate noise levels.

  • Occasionally required to feel attributes of objects, stand, walk, reach, climb, and perform repetitive movements. Requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
