JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for:

• Assisting in the day-to-day scheduling of the transportation of vehicles in the Shoppa's transpo11ation depa11ment
• Ensuring the logistical organization and safety of all in-bound, out-bound and the inventoty of all materials delivered and shipped
• Supporting and improving the company's commitment to ASEC
• Ensuring a culture of safety is fostered, trucks are maintained to Shoppa's standard, a high level of customer service is rovided, loads are cost-effective and efficient, and DOT com liance is maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Transportation:
  • Assist in coordinating efficient loads, prioritizing around customer urgency, n1.1ck type, geographic considerations, etc. Dispatches each driver and confirms delivery of their daily delivery schedule. Ensures efficient turnaround time for loads so as to minimize driver down time between loads.
  • Communicates daily with branch transportation members to ensure seamless execution of scheduled deliveries.
  • Files timely reports for any delays, incidents, or accidents for the Transportation Department.
  • Implements procedures that will ensure a consistent and professional level of customer service from the Transportation Department.
• Sources and utilizes outside vendors to supplement deliveries during heavy sales periods.
• Logistics
  • Kaizen the entire flow of materials from the time they hit the dock, until the time they are shipped
  • Work with Dock Porter and Shop Porter to properly receive, inventory, and move materials within the facility and on the lot
  • Work with the Shop Porter to ensure that material is properly stored, and locations recorded
  • Work with Dock Porter and Shop Porter to ensure paperwork properly flows from the in-bound/out-bound material through coordinators and Shop Foreman, so materials can be properly checked in and labeled
• ASEC
  • Ensure the facilities - particularly the yard and shop - meet ASEC standards
