We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented
Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in
Columbia, MO. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will identify non-quality factors continuously, conduct in-depth analyses, and monitor quality improvement plans. You will implement preventive solutions and solve quality manufacturing issues affecting customers quickly and effectively.
What will you do?- Quality Program Management: Lead relevant quality programs and methods such as 8D, Lean Six Sigma, Quality Fundamentals, Digital Quality, and customer interaction to ensure continuous improvement.
- Issue Management: Manage critical issues escalated by customers or line of business. Utilize problem-solving tools such as 8D, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to understand root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement: Lead review, development, and implementation of Quality Fundamentals, PFMEA, process control plans, and poka-yoke & Jidoka opportunities.
- Quality Manufacturing: Lead continuous process improvement impacting customer returns, scrap, and first-time throughput.
- Customer Interface: Interface with external customers to understand their expectations and concerns regarding product issues. Responsible for investigations, customer follow-up, and ultimate customer satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Antennas, manufacturing personnel, and external corporate engineering, quality, and supplier quality resources.
- Product and Supplier Support: Support new product introductions and supplier development activities relating to components.
- Network: Benchmark with other entities to align and deploy projects utilizing digital technology in process robustness.
- Process Management: Ensure quality items are included in the equipment, tool, and process qualification plans.
Main Activities: - Ensure the Process Control Plan is applied.
- Lead continuous improvement on production lines.
- Lead root cause analysis of quality issues and problem-solving.
- Create and maintain quality control documentation.
- Lead Process Audits and Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA).
- Provide inputs and challenge quality for new products or product evolution.
- Manage derogations and be the local expert of assembled products.
- Manage teams according to SPS/SIM rules and cycle events of the plan.
Key Systems? Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Quality improvement tools, techniques & models, and Statistical quality techniques and analysis.
Who will you report to? Customer Satisfaction & Quality Manager.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial preferred) is required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum experience of 6 months within manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
- Certified 8D competent level or equivalent certification for problem-solving methodology.
- Certified PFMEA expert level preferred or equivalent certification for improving process robustness.
- Strong understanding of lean tools like VSM (Value Stream Mapping), 5S, Spaghetti Diagram, process flow diagrams, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodology for Green Belt or Black Belt projects, and achieve cost savings.
- Experience in SAP to understand BOM (Bill of Material), routings, Production versions.
- Experience integrating controls using Vision Systems and DC drivers for RPN reduction projects.
- Ability to understand/interpret engineering drawings to resolve supplier quality issues.
- ISO led auditor certification preferred.
- Experience interacting with customers.
