About the role:

We arecurrentlyseeking a Health and Safety Internatour St. Louis headquarters.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Director, you will support and contribute to a range of ongoing departmental projects that advance both corporate and site-level Health and Safety initiatives.

Duties will include:
  • Assisting with the administration and coordination of Peabody's Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program across both corporate offices and operational sites, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting Workers' Compensation requests by helping gather documentation, tracking cases, and assisting with communication between internal teams and external partners
  • Assisting with Training and Development initiatives, including scheduling, tracking participation, and supporting the delivery of employee learning programs
  • Providing general administrative support to the department, including managing documentation, coordinating meetings, and assisting with day-to-day operational needs
  • Assisting with Records Retention Compliance by maintaining organized files, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements
  • Gaining knowledge, awareness, and understanding of the mining and energy industries, including industry practices, safety standards, and regulatory environments


The Lifestyle:

This position is a full-time role, working from our corporate headquarters in St Louis, MO. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements and opportunity to finish at noon on Friday's.The pay range for this role is $21 - $28/hour.

About you:
  • Enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program of study. Major and/or significant coursework in business or other related area preferred.
  • Prior internship experience is a plus
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written), including the ability to convey ideas, communicate with outside parties and use active listening skills
  • Experience working in a team environment, including a demonstrated ability to contribute positively toward team goals
  • Strong organizational skills, including a demonstrated ability to prioritize various projects that may be in process simultaneously
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite of applications (including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint) is a plus


Physical requirements:
  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment.
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
