Description:

Associate Research Technician (Research Support)

Pay: $17.88 per hour

Shift & Working Hours: Saturday - Sunday and holidays during the morning beginning between 7: 00am - 8: 00am for about 2-5 hours per day.

This will be responsible for the daily care and management for animals within the Companion Animal Unit. Responsibilities will include: feeding/watering, cleaning pens/cages, weighing animals and general housekeeping within the unit. Species involved include but not limited to: poultry, captive deer, sheep, goats, rabbits and fish.

Required qualifications/competencies:
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license required


Preferred experience:
  • Animal care experience, livestock preferred


Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
  • Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods
