The department provides the following services to our patients: Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echocardiograms, Nuclear Stress Tests, Treadmill Exercise Stress Tests, Event and Holter Monitors and EKG Processing.< /p> < br> < strong> Preferred Qualifications< /Strong> < br> < br> < p> < span style='font-size: 12px; '> < strong> Role Purpose< /strong> < /span> < /p> < p style= text-align: justify> The Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is partnered with Washington University School of Medicine to provide state-of-the art multi-modality echocardiographic imaging. The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) performs ASE-guided, non-invasive cardiovascular testing in an IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) accredited lab to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease or injury, including advanced pathologies and anatomies (3-D echocardiography, transplanted heart and lungs, assist device placement and management, transcatheter valvular repair/replacement, congenital abnormalities and malformations, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, percutaneous placement of closure devices for patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defects, and research protocols). Performs testing in routine, non-routine urgent and emergent patient care situations. Testing modalities will include transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress transthoracic echocardiography.< /p> < p> < /p> < p> < span style='font-size: 12px; '> < strong> Responsibilities< /strong> < /span> < /p> < li> Performs complex echocardiography exams at various locations throughout academic campus.< /li> < li> Evaluates all aspects of cardiovascular patient clinical assessment for cardiac conditions and recognizes abnormalities.< /li> < li> Reviews and correlates relevant patient history, including corrective procedures, surgeries, etc. Applies independent clinical judgement during exam to ensure appropriate anatomical, pathophysiology and clinical conditions are captured in examination images.< /li> < li> Acquires advanced modalities as trained to include 3D, right heart strain, TAPSE, PISA. Transcatheter pre/post valvular repair/replacement, HOCM etc< /li> < li> Communicates with healthcare team for collaboration of care.
