Summary
The VDC Manager is responsible for assisting project teams by coordinating VDC/BIM related activities on various projects. The VDC Manager will achieve successful 3D Coordination on multiple simultaneous projects. The VDC Manager will demonstrate leadership in BIM coordination and successfully implement the most applicable construction technologies available.

• Provide management of VDC services to multiple projects.
• Establish BIM/VDC project schedule, goals, and deliverables.
• Leads BIM Coordination at the project level. Expected to work on projects with limited oversight.
• Creates historically accurate BIM milestones, schedules, and budgets for 3D coordination and ancillary technologies, using experience and past data from Alberici.
• Must be able to communicate with Alberici Operations, Architects, Engineers, and Owner Reps professionally in a proactive manner both verbally and in writing to ensure coordination supports project level schedules.
• Manages the BIM coordination process on a project, working with subcontractors, designers and the Alberici operations team.
• Prioritizes the sequence of identifying clashes by zone or sequence, in order of importance.
• Recognizes and addresses constructability issues during coordination and calls for adjustments to the plan in a proactive manner when needed.
• Tracks schedules and updates Alberici team.
• Manages and distributes coordinated digital documents to the project team.
• Coordinates with subcontractors to ensure milestones are met and clashes are resolved.
• Create coordination and VDC deliverable schedules.
• Coordinates work directly with other members of the VDC team.
• Works with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate VDC into Quality, Lean, Sheduling, Design Integration and other adjacent Alberici teams.
• Provide estimates for VDC-related project services.
• Create/oversee development of presentation quality 3D models for proposals, preconstruction, and construction.
• Travel to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
• Regular and reliable attendance in person as required by your Supervisor, Company guidelines, and/or project and office obligations.
Management Responsibilities
Supervise the creation of task-level deliverables by VDC internal team members and third parties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to use a process of incorporating multiple subcontractor and design models together to substantially complete coordination prior to submitting shop drawings to the design team.
• Ability to be the source of establishing the BIM coordination objectives for each assigned construction project, as well as plan the approach needed to choose and implement the use of ancillary technologies required by operations staff.
• Capable of performing complex, significant project-related tasks by providing various BIM or CAD-related functions to support the operations staff.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings and technical specifications.
• Ability to coordinate shop models for one or more of the following trades: MEP, mechanical piping, fire protection or structural.
• Capable of leading BIM coordination with groups comprised of trade partners including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical Piping, Fire Protection, Steel Fabricators, Site Utilities, Drywall, Pre-Cast Concrete, miscellaneous specialty vendors, Architects, and Engineers.
• Ability and skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, as in providing written and oral instructions to employees and in communicating with architects, clients and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Suites, Navisworks Manage, Revit, SketchUp, Revizto and Procore.
• Utilizes Microsoft Office-based applications and project management software systems appropriate for this role.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field and 5+ years of experience with BIM/VDC coordination or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
AGC CM-BIM Certification or ability to achieve in first year of hire.
