BASIC FUNCTION

This position has a wide range of responsibility across the warehouse operations. Areas of responsibility include quality assurance checks on incoming materials, store and distributes materials within the warehouse, prepare/pull orders, light assembly. Order fulfilment from packing orders, checking finished products to ensure customer specifications and quality requirements are met, final prep and staging, and preparing the shipment paperwork and computer transactions for the orders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Unloading trucks, checking in inventory, receiving purchase orders in the system.
  • Review incoming material, in-process production and finished goods to ensure conformance to specifications; conduct visual inspection and measurement tests; help coordinate and approve the return/rework of nonconforming materials.
  • Document inspection and audit results and complete nonconformance reports and logs.
  • Work with other functions across the organization to troubleshoot root causes, solve problems and improve processes in order to reduce non-conformances, rework, scrap, and eliminate waste; implement corrective and preventative actions to avoid recurrence of issues.
  • Oversee the MRB process for discrepant materials.
  • Develop and document procedures as part of the Quality Management System; train co-workers in company procedures and quality assurance techniques as needed.
  • Keep measurement equipment and material handling equipment operating by following operating instructions; have repaired as needed.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Light assembly work as required for project completion
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Track, monitor, and verify inventory levels - correct problems as they are discovered so that inventory location and quantity accuracy is maintained to ensure smooth flow of materials/goods.
  • Picking, verifying, and delivering parts to the assembly floor in a timely matter.
  • Proper packing, accurate picking, labeling and tagging of the inventory in the warehouse.
  • Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness and safety at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse and manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control.
  • Exposure to process and internal quality programs in an environment with ISO or a similar quality control system.

SKILLS

  • Proficient using an MRP system; general knowledge in using key Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience in using an assortment of shipping software programs.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Able to read, understand, and analyze Engineering drawings.
  • Ability to utilize quality inspection equipment

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Forklift certification preferred but not required
  • Driver's license required

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull
  • Lift above head
