Job Description

Rotochopper Inc is hiring a OTR Driver / Heavy Equipment Demonstrator in Saint Martin, MN. This is a full-time position.

Take the road less traveled and do more than just drive. Rotochopper is looking for an experienced OTR Driver who can safely transport oversized equipment and work hands-on with our machines at customer sites. In addition to long-haul driving, this role includes setting up and operating equipment during customer demonstrations alongside our Sales team. If youre a Class A CDL driver who is comfortable hauling oversized loads, working around heavy equipment, and interacting with customers, this would be a strong fit. MORE THAN AN OTR DRIVING ROLE One week, you may be transporting a Rotochopper machine across the country. The next, you could be at a customer site operating the equipment and helping demonstrate what if can do. Were looking for someone who is as comfortable around heavy equipment and customers as they are behind the wheel of a truck. Extended periods away from home are an important part of the position, so this role is best suited for someone who enjoys life on the road and is comfortable balancing long-haul driving with customer-site demonstrations. WHAT YOULL Do Youll be trusted to safely transport Rotochopper equipment, parts, and machines while delivering a high level of service to our customers. Responsibilities include: Transporting oversized and overweight equipment over long distances safely and in compliance with DOT, state, and federal requirements.Loading, unloading, and securing equipment.Inspecting your truck, trailer, and load before departure and maintaining required driver and vehicle inspection records.Planning and adjusting routes based on permits, road conditions, and delivery requirements.Performing basic vehicle maintenance and promptly reporting mechanical or safety concerns.Supporting hands-on customer demonstrations, including setting up and operating heavy equipment to showcase machine capabilities.Working alongside our Sales team during machine deliveries and demonstrations.Working directly with customers during deliveries and demonstrations and responding to questions or needs on site. WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR 3-5 years of over-the-road driving experience with oversized/overweight loadsCurrent Class A CDL with a clean driving recordCurrent DOT Medical Certificate and ability to maintain DOT qualificationsAbility to travel regularly, drive long distances, and spend extended periods away from homeStrong communication and customer-service skillsAbility to work independently and make sound decisions on the roadMechanical or heavy equipment experience, including experience operating heavy equipment PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS This is a safety-sensitive position that requires the ability to safely perform the essential functions of an OTR and equipment-focused role. Duties may include entering and exiting a tractor cab frequently; bending, climbing, kneeling, pushing and pulling while securing freight; hooking and unhooking trailers; installing tire chains; working outdoors in varying weather conditions; and handling equipment and freight. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, and periodically up to 75 pounds. Required PPE must be worn as applicable.
