JOB SUMMARY:
The Sous Chef’s primary responsibility is to prepare high quality food orders in a safe, sanitary, timely fashion and for assisting with other kitchen functions as needed. Works alongside the Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking. Provides meal quality and consistency by following designated recipes.

Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule as position requires working various shifts depending on business need.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
Monitor food and labor costs, minimize waste, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Leads kitchen team in Chef and Executive Sous Chef’s absence
Provides guidance to line kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
Trains new kitchen employees to kitchen and Brand Standards.
Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards.
Works with Executive Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
Work closely with the banquet and events team to create and execute menus for special events, ensuring seamless service and high guest satisfaction.
Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
Coordinates with management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANALYSIS:
The Sous Chef works primarily indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. This position requires continuous standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending and reaching throughout entire shift. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, steam, hot surfaces, slipping and tripping, working with sharp objects (knives) and exposure to standard cleaning chemicals. All Food & Beverage department associates are required to wear rubber soled, non-slip footwear and must follow proper safety precautions at all times to avoid injuries.
TOTAL REWARDS:
This is a full-time, fully benefited, non-exempt position with a compensation of $22 an hour. This position comes with Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short Term & Long-Term Disability, Voluntary Life, AD& D, FSA, HSA, PTO and 401K benefits. You will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in this position. This position schedule does include night and weekends as required.
