Description:

Operations Quality Manager

This position is responsible for ensuring compliance to Land O'Lakes QMS, food regulatory requirements, and customer quality and food safety requirements at Land O'Lakes dairy manufacturing sites. This position will work across multiple dairy manufacturing sites to investigate product safety and quality issues, lead plant quality staff in the execution of the Quality System and Sanitation programs.

This position requires up to 75% travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Coach, mentor, and direct work of plant quality teams at dairy manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure food safety and quality requirements are met, investigate product safety and quality issues, lead plant quality staff on execution of QMS requirements
  • Monitor and analyze product safety and quality data. Identify and execute on plant quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage quality events, work with teams on hold product disposition
  • Review and approve specifications and other quality/food safety related documents
  • Conduct root cause investigations and CAPAs for product safety and quality events, out of spec product, and customer complaints.
  • Communicate results for quality and food safety metrics and quality issues and events at facilities.
  • Assist with plant audits and customer visits, customer support work and monitor and investigate customer/consumer complaints.
  • Engage corporate and external technical experts to work with plant teams as needed.
  • Onboard new plant quality managers, plant quality staff, and other plant leaders. Assist with hiring of plant quality staff and with training on product safety and quality related subjects.


Required Experience/Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related disciplines.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in production, quality assurance, or sanitation within the food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a progressive leadership role in plant quality or corporate quality roles.
  • Extensive experience in HACCP, quality assurance standards, food laboratory testing, and statistical process control techniques, and food processing sanitation.
  • CQE, LEAN, or Six Sigma certification and/or experience preferred
  • Multi plant experience is preferred
  • Experience in dairy processes and sanitation, including: cheese, butter, milk powder is highly preferred.


Salary Range: $105, 040 - $157, 560
