Intermediate Maintenance
Pay: $ 31.32 per hour plus
Shift Differential: $32.32 per hour
Hiring Bonus: $500 bonus after completing 90 day probationary period
$500 bonus after completing 6 months of employment
$500 bonus after completing 12 months of employment
Total of $1, 500 bonus
Shift & Working Hours: Night Shift; 6: 00PM to 6: 00AM (2-2-3 Rotation) Weekends/Overtime/Holidays as needed.
Role Focus: The 2nd Class Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair work on production equipment and facility systems.
In this role, you will be a key member of our Land O'Lakes, Inc. manufacturing team, performing front-line production processes that add value and quality to the inputs and creation of final high-quality products. You will gain skills and experience of taking raw materials to produce our final products for customers. This will include operating machinery and equipment, packaging the final product. This role is part of our Dairy Food business who creates dairy products that stand for real, simple goodness. We believe there's power in every drop of milk our farmers produce, and by improving production and finding innovative uses for that milk, we add a little good to people's lives.
Key Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to the following: - Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant processing equipment
- Address errors that are occur with machines
- Monitor the mechanical and safety conditions of the equipment to ensure that all equipment is fully functional
- Make visual adjustments and fix alignment of sensors
- Maintain work area, tools and shop equipment in a clean and functional manner
- Maintain maintenance logs accurately and neatly
- Follow the Pine Island preventative maintenance program
- Complies with all safety processes and insists on safety practices of self and others
- Shows up on time, completes tasks by deadlines, and adapts to changes quickly
- Able to multi-task and keep up with production demands in a fast-paced environment
- Ensures all quality standards and standard operating procedures are followed during production process
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area
- Collaborates and follows the instructions of Leads and Management to accomplish daily work assignments
Safety Responsibility: - Use proper lifting techniques when performing Maintenance duties.
- Follow plant safety rules and procedures.
- Encourage safe work techniques for all employees.
- Perform all duties safely and to use discretion to prevent injuries.
- Complete annual safety refresher training requirements.
Interpersonal / Organizational Responsibilities: - Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to follow written methods, paying close attention to details.
- Must be able to follow specific work direction and adjust as necessary to accomplish the job.
- Must be able to maintain legible & accurate records / paperwork as required.
- Must have communication skills to properly explain product quality issues to appropriate production personnel.
- Must have skills to properly explain equipment, product quality, or production issues to Maintenance, Lab, or other Production Personnel during pre-shift meetings, at shift hand off, and during your shift. This may involve communicating in problem solving events or meetings.
- Must have the ability to communicate positively to all LOL, customer, regulatory or vendor representatives as needed.
Required Qualifications: - Must hold a Minnesota Class 2B Boiler License
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Must have problem analysis and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to operate a forklift, maintaining compliance with established forklift safety standards.
- Must be able to work with people and must possess the interpersonal skills as identified above.
- Two or more years related maintenance experience and/or training, or combination of education/experience
- Must be 18 years or older
- 1 year or more of work experience in any industry
- Basic computer and math skills
- Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot
- Strong collaboration, communication skills, and is always respectful
Physical Responsibility: - Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push, pull and stoop and lift when performing maintenance work.
- Capability of lifting 60 lbs on a routine basis
- Must be able to work with hearing protection in places in areas that it is required.
- Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include areas where dust and chemicals are present
- Required to work scheduled shift which may include weekends, some holidays, and periodic overtime
