Job Description

Faribault Foods, Inc. is hiring a Can Making Tech - 2nd shift - 4x10 hour shifts in Faribault, MN. This is a full-time position.

SUMMARY: This person would be responsible for movement of product and supplies in the Can Making area. Operate can making equipment including the depalletizer, depalletizer/palletizer, can conveyor systems, lid feeder, slitter, welder, body former, uniformer, leak detector and can detection systems. Monitor the processes of the canning systems so that product quality is guaranteed and package integrity is assured. The schedule for this position is 1: 45pm to 12: 15am, Monday through Thursday. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent education experience. 1 to 3 years in a manufacturing facility. Demonstrated experience in ability to run, set-up and change-over equipment. Demonstrated equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance experience preferred. Working knowledge of computers and software applications, preferably with MS Office applications. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Forklift experience preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to understand and follow directions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages; draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Dependability and reliability. Safety awareness is a must. Ability to read, understand and comply with work directions, training manuals, safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Processes.
