If you are a Customer Service Professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Emerson is seeking a Customer Service Specialist (Analytical Instruments) at our Shakopee, MN location. As a Customer Service Specialist (Analytical Instruments), you will be responsible for order administration including handling customer purchase orders, serving as primary customer order contact for assigned customers or accounts, and coordinating all order related activities.

In this role, your responsibilities will be:

  • Gain ability to review and understand customer contracts to identify and document all requirements as defined in the customer purchase order, buying agreement, change order, specifications, terms and conditions, and commercial requirements before acceptance
  • Proactively work to prevent order issues post-booking
  • Handle orders and transactions to meet customer requirements by applying appropriate lead time, order management tools, and subject matter authorities
  • Answering inbound phone calls from customers regarding order status, follow-up, etc.
  • Provide a highly responsive interface for both external and internal customers to ensure an efficient, acceptable, and high-quality order experience for all parties involved
  • Initiate discussions with customers to meet or exceed expectations of timeliness and quality
  • Use time management / prioritization skills to proactively supervise orders and resolve issues throughout the lifecycle
  • Assist traffic and shipping with smooth execution of the order from finished goods into the customer’s hands
  • Seek out opportunities for process improvements
  • Maintain high levels of integrity and have strong relationship building skills
  • Complete timely resolution of customer invoice disputes
  • Regularly collaborate with colleagues internationally

For this role, you will need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two (2) or more years of related experience required
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications that set you apart:

  • Completed or in progress Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Skilled in timely and effective communication

The salary range for this role is $52, 000 - $64, 000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
