Description:

Automatic Systems is the most respected system integrator in the upper Midwest. This compensated internship program will provide growth, gain experience and insight into the municipal process control market. You will be providing support for our ongoing projects and customer base. Responsibilities may include providing field troubleshooting and commissioning services on instrumentation, motor control, Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces primarily in the municipal water and wastewater industry.

Responsibilities:

  • I/O Checkout
  • Instrumentation calibrations
  • Field modifications.
  • Motor Control and Variable Frequency Drive commissioning.
  • Control system commissioning.
  • PLC/OIT/SCADA programming modifications.
  • Communications network commissioning including fiber optic, radio telemetry, broadband, and other associated technologies.

Qualities for Success:

  • Working towards an Associate's degree in Industrial Automation or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a basic understanding of reading wiring schematics.
  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of co-workers, management, and clients.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Willingness to learn PLC programming on one or more of the following platforms such as Rockwell RSLogix 500, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider Modicon, Siemens S7, and/or GE PAC systems.
  • Willingness to learn HMI/OIT applications programming using such as Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, Ignition and/or Intellution iFix.
  • Light travel in the Midwest to gain field experience and knowledge.
