RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under supervision, perform routine to complex environmental engineering and compliance tasks requiring application of scientific theory and concepts in a particular field to several aspects such as data entry, data review and analysis, studies, testing, compliance, waste management, inspections, regulatory analysis, to support compliance with existing and new environmental regulations and programs in the water quality and waste management.
  • Perform administrative work relating to assignments.
  • Has direct involvement with the Company's Environmental Management System (EMS) and coordination and management of the Environmental Management Information System (EMIS).
  • Collaborate with other staff to follow all regulations, minimize environmental impacts, and develop sustainable solutions to problems that present environmental risk for the facility.
  • Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor activities and data to ensure compliance with permit conditions and regulations, including performing routine data analysis around compliance and trends.
  • Coordinate waste management activities, including scheduling of shipments on behalf of the facility.
  • Assist with water and waste sampling and coordination of testing and data analysis.
  • Perform annual reviews of required plans.
  • Provide annual and focused trainings for facility staff with a focus on environmental requirements.
  • Effective performance achieved through application of internal and professional practices and economics to assure compliance with all rules, regulations, and permits while maintaining reliable, cost effective service

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, biology, natural/physical science, physics or equivalent.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • No experience required
    • Experience with electric utility environmental regulations and compliance preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position will report regularly in person to Cohasset, MN.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent computer, data management, and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain positive internal and external working relationships.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

BENEFITS:
  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $57, 000 - $70, 000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, this position qualifies for a comprehensive benefits package, including an Incentive Program, Retirement Benefits, Medical, Dental & Vision Plans, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Life Insurance, Disability, Tuition Reimbursement, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences, and more.
