Description:

Insurance Circle Agency, an independent insurance agency proudly operating as part of the Sequel Insurance Agencies family, has an exciting opportunity for an Insurance Producer (Risk Advisor) Commercial Lines. As a Sequel affiliated agency, we combine the personalized, relationship-driven service of a local agency with the resources, collaborations, and growth opportunities of a larger organization.


Based in Jackson, Michigan, this role is critical to the success of the territory, region, and broader retail enterprise. This is a proactive, sales-focused position responsible for prospecting, developing, and closing new business to exceed individual and departmental sales goals. The Insurance Advisor will partner closely with the SVP, National Sales to develop and execute a business plan aligned to these objectives, while also collaborating with the service team to strengthen client relationships, drive retention, and support continued growth.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new clients using proactive prospecting methods. Networking, centers of influence, referrals, sales calls, digital outreach, and other outbound marketing efforts
  • Meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPls) related to revenue generated, new business premium written, policies per customer, and others as assigned
  • Develop and maintain a consistent sales pipeline throughout all stages of the sales cycle, updating the CRM to reflect current opportunity status.
  • Present customized insurance proposals aligned with client needs, reviewing coverage options, risk management strategies, and pricing.
  • Build and maintain client relationships in partnership with the service team to foster growth and retention of existing business.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to identify coverage gaps, new exposures, and opportunities for additional coverage or products.
  • Actively participate in community and industry networking events to increase personal and agency brand visibility to drive new business opportunities.
  • Advance your professional development through continuing education, training, and industry designations.
  • Develop working relationships with underwriters and marketing managers to stay current on underwriting guidelines, carrier appetites and product offerings
  • Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients to obtain competitive terms and pricing
  • Follow agency processes and procedures, including documentation, workflow adherence, and compliance best practices to protect against errors and omissions.
  • Attend regular individual, departmental, and regional meetings or training sessions as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to generate referral opportunities that expand client relationships across all lines of business

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration, influencing and negotiation.
  • Active Property & Casualty License (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • Associate degree preferred; Bachelor's (or similar) desired. Will consider relevant experience in lieu of
  • Proven success in business development or insurance sales, with measurable production results
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite and business software; Prior experience with CRM or agency management systems preferred
  • Commitment to maintaining professional education and designations as required by the agency or Department of Insurance.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Property and Casualty License required.
