People Matters HR consulting, services, and training firm is looking for an HR Consultant to join our growing Lansing based firm. We’re a team of HR professionals who are passionate about helping businesses build great workplaces that engage employees and drive better business results through HR! What We Get to Do

Our HR Consultants advise our clients on a wide array of issues and also perform practitioner functions, so there is plenty of variety. For example:

• Coaching and advising client managers and employees
• Creating start-up HR departments
• Providing day-to-day HR services
• Conducting HR audits
• Writing policies and procedures
• Conducting workplace investigations
• Performing compensation and benefit analysis
• Drafting employee communications
• Facilitating training programs
• Drafting and maintaining HR documentation
• Recruiting and interviewing employees
• Etc., etc., etc.!

What Our HR Consultants Need

Our clients rely on us to know our stuff. Our experience tells us that to make it at the consultant level, it takes:

• A minimum of 7 years of HR operational and strategic experience
• Experience in multiple HR disciplines such as talent acquisition, total rewards, employee relations, performance management, and compliance
• Experience working with company staff sizes under and over 50 employees
• Experience in a variety of organizations and industries
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• ATS and HRIS experience
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or closely related discipline or equivalent experience
• HR professional certification helpful
• Strong knowledge of state and federal employment regulations and trends
