Are you a growth-obsessed sales leader with a relentless drive to break into new markets and land major deals? MOTOR Information Systems is looking for a Director of National Sales – Data Insights to lead the charge in aggressively expanding our footprint across the automotive and heavy-duty landscape.
Position Summary
In this high-impact, high-visibility role, your mission is clear: hunt, close, and grow. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Sales, you will be responsible for building a robust pipeline, acquiring net-new logos, and driving revenue growth for our rapidly expanding MOTOR Insights portfolio – a powerful suite of data products used by over 30, 000 repair shops daily.

Responsibilities
- Own and execute a hunter-centric sales strategy that drives exponential revenue growth for the MOTOR Insights product line. Drive this mentality through the entire sales organization.
- Identify and pursue greenfield opportunities across new verticals and enterprise-level customer segments.
- Target and close high-value deals with Leading automotive and heavy-duty repair chains, National parts retailers and distributors, Warranty and extended service contract providers, Technology companies, Tool providers, OEMs’ dealerships, and financial institutions to name a few.
- Build a scalable, repeatable sales motion that accelerates customer acquisition and portfolio expansion.
- Build pipeline with precision: Define and execute pipeline generation strategies targeting untapped verticals, whitespace accounts, and high-potential opportunities.
- Develop robust territory and account-based plans, tailored by region and vertical.
- Provide hands-on support to field sales during key deals, bringing deep subject-matter expertise and leadership to the sales team’s opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and product to craft compelling value propositions, tailored messaging, and go-to-market plays.
- Lead and or support all aspects of the sales cycle—from prospecting to pitch to contract—ensuring consistent deal velocity and close rates.
- Partner with Technical Sales Engineering to align customer needs with technical capabilities, solution design, pricing and pre-sales support.
- Deliver on aggressive new revenue targets and KPIs, while maintaining laser focus on client satisfaction and retention.
- Represent MOTOR at key industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to amplify market presence and pipeline momentum.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of proven success in data insights sales, preferably in automotive, technology, or SaaS sectors.
- A true hunter mindset with a track record of breaking into new accounts and consistently crushing new business quotas.
- Deep understanding of B2B sales strategy, enterprise selling, and complex deal negotiation.
- Strong familiarity with the automotive aftermarket ecosystem and its key players.
- Excellent storytelling, executive presence, and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to build lasting C-level relationships and navigate long sales cycles with confidence.
- Highly analytical approach with a focus on metrics, outcomes, and continual optimization.
- Experience with data licensing and/or insights-based solutions is a major plus.
- Familiarity with automotive data analytics or technology solutions is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
