Job Title: Continuous Improvement Manager Job Description: Manage the Poindexter Lean Production System (PLPS). Develop and implement cost savings while continually improving manufacturing, administrative, and distribution processes at Morgan Olson. Manage the daily management boards for compliance and improvement. Manage the CI team and facilitate lean events while managing standardize, documented, outcomes with supporting cost reduction evidence.
Essential Functions and Activities: - Manages the development and implementation of the PLPS and daily management systems utilizing lean manufacturing tools.
- Initiate and identify cost reduction initiatives to meet Morgan Olson objectives while supporting standardized documentary evidence to support corporate audits.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts which includes lay out improvement, flow process improvement and applying best practices.
- Support, mentor and train the select core implementation team members in the use and application of value steam management process, 5S, visual controls, VSM, Kanban Daily MDI, and other lean manufacturing tools.
- Mentor and train all other team members and management in Lean activities and tools.
- Mentor & train team members, including group leads and supervisors, on Daily Management, problem solving and other lean tools utilizing the standardized PLPS content
- Conduct annual value stream mapping events (in all Sites this includes non-manufacturing processes) and track/document results.
- Identify current state value streams and initiatives to transition to ideal future state condition utilizing value stream mapping and other tools to identify and prioritize initiatives across all business sites.
- Identify and remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement process.
- Corporate communication and presentation.
- Sustaining and improving the Daily Management Boards and system.
- Supports and participates in Morgan Olson's PLPS team efforts.
- Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer-focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Minimum of bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience in operations, driving team excellence, and managing people.
- Proven leadership skills (lead, motivate, process and people management skills)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong experience in lean manufacturing concepts, tools, and processes.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision/guidance.
- Computer literacy with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, AutoCAD, Visio and Minitab.
