Description:
Amsted Automotive is looking for a Part-time Payroll Clerk to work Monday through Wednesday with a few additional hours / days as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- You will be responsible to perform a variety of payroll activities.
- US and Canadian payroll for over 1000 employees.
- Prepare and transmit weekly union and non-union payrolls, including both domestic and Canada and bi-weekly salary payrolls
- Will work closely with Human Resources, Payroll Manager, and Finance teams.
- Balance the payrolls and generate the related journal entries.
- Issue and distribute pay checks.
- Monitor benefit withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments, etc.
- Provide support with reconciling payroll information to general ledger.
- Time sheet management and maintain payroll records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- A dedicated person who has earned their associate degree, Bachelors preferred in finance/accounting, or Certification in Payroll.
- In addition, you must have 3-4 years’ experience in payroll administration or accounting.
- Strong mathematical skills, detail, analytical, and accuracy skills with integrity to handle confidential and highly sensitive information.
- Strong Excel skills for reporting, metrics and data validation, computer literacy, and sound knowledge of Microsoft applications is required.
- Familiarity with the payroll process start to finish.
- Strong planning and organization skills including e-organization is critical.
- UltiPro payroll software experience can be beneficial and Workforce Dimensions timekeeping a plus.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
- Can apply critical thinking to all work areas, communicate and understand potential consequences or opportunities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required:
Associates or better in accounting or related field.
Preferred:
Bachelor's or better in Finance or related field.
Required:
3-4 years' experience in payroll administration or accounting.
