Basic Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution (by May 2026).
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree in engineering in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Manufacturing or Material Science
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent dimensional and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis and suiting methodology
  • Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus
Our Quality Engineer Interns will be located in various plants across our campus in Whitehall, MI.

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students to join our team. These positions will assist engineering with manufacturing issues relative to customer specifications. Root cause analysis & corrective/preventative action determined as appropriate.

The 2026 Summer Internship Program consists of 10-14 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, lunch & learn seminars, fun networking events to connect with fellow interns, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, each intern will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Aerospace will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any role, and it's Howmet's goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.
