Blight Inspector

Frenchtown Charter Township is seeking a Part-Time Blight Inspector to help uphold the communitys standards for safety, cleanliness, and overall appearance. This role centers on enforcing Township ordinances and State of Michigan regulations related to property maintenance, with a strong focus on resolving complaints, monitoring Board-directed priority areas, and supporting residents in maintaining safe and attractive properties.The Blight Inspector plays a key role in protecting neighborhood quality and ensuring compliance with local ordinances. Working independently in the field, you will investigate complaints, conduct inspections, issue notices when necessary, and collaborate with property owners to bring properties into compliance. Previous law enforcement experience is preferred, as the role requires sound judgment, professionalism, and confident decision-making.
