Description:

Position Summary:

We are a private equity-backed, mid-market industrial distribution company seeking a highly capable and execution-focused Supply Chain Manager. This individual will be responsible for building a scalable, cost-efficient, and customer-centric supply chain function to support aggressive growth targets, margin expansion, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with deep experience in industrial distribution, and a strong track record of driving measurable results across procurement, inventory optimization, logistics, and distribution in a PE-backed or fast-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Value Creation
  • Develop and execute a scalable supply chain strategy that aligns with value creation goals set by executive leadership and the PE sponsor.
  • Identify and lead cost reduction, working capital improvement, and EBITDA enhancement initiatives across the supply chain.

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
  • Optimize supplier base, renegotiate vendor contracts, and lead direct and indirect sourcing initiatives to reduce COGS.
  • Build a sustainable supplier risk mitigation framework and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Responsible for continuous improvements programs with suppliers.

Inventory & Working Capital Optimization
  • Lead demand planning and forecasting processes to reduce excess inventory and improve turns.
  • ยท Establish controls and KPIs to balance service levels with working capital efficiency.

Distribution & Logistics
  • Oversee transportation, and 3PL relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable distribution.
  • Drive improvements in on-time delivery, and freight efficiency.

Technology & Infrastructure
  • Evaluate and improve systems (ERP, WMS, TMS) to support data-driven decision-making and scalability.
  • Support integration and optimization of systems and processes post-acquisition (if M& A is a component of the growth strategy).

Leadership & Team Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team capable of supporting rapid scale.
  • Develop a performance-based culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and data transparency.
  • Establishes and maintains premier customer service

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and the PE sponsor to drive alignment on business priorities and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to integration planning and execution for add-on acquisitions, as applicable.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, including within a PE-backed or high-growth distribution or industrial environment.
  • Deep experience in procurement, logistics, inventory management, and systems implementation.
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings, improving service levels, and supporting M& A integration.
  • Strong financial acumen and comfort working with KPIs, dashboards, and private equity reporting expectations.
  • Hands-on, data-driven, and execution-focused leadership style.
  • Infor Cloud Suite Distribution (CSD) knowledge a plus.

Preferred Certifications:
  • APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP)
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar process optimization background
