Job Summary
The Executive Compensation & Incentive Manager Sr is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, governance, and ongoing management of incentive, equity, and executive compensation programs across the organization. This role will ensure effective programs and execution are in place to align with business goals, motivate performance, ensure fairness, and adhere to regulatory standards while enhancing practices and processes. This position interacts with various areas of HR and leadership positions outside of HR, including a strong partnership with Finance.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Program Design & Analysis - Lead the development and continuous evolution of incentive programs for various business units. Ensure alignment between incentive plans and overall business strategies. Establish frameworks for setting clear plan design and metrics that drive desired behaviors, monitor and assess plan performance recommending changes based on data-driven insights and evolving business needs.
  • Operational Execution - Oversee accurate and timely incentive or equity processing, ensure seamless communication of plan structures and changes to participants and people leaders, identify and resolve issues in programs or administration. Support Executive Compensation matters and Compensation Committee in partnership of Comp manager and Comp Director. Consistently bring forward opportunities and enhancements to compensation programs and policies and lead the implementation from start to finish.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership - Collaborate closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and Finance teams. Act as a subject matter expert to senior leadership on trends and best practices in incentive and equity strategy. Lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Governance & Risk Management - d evelop and oversee policies and processes to ensure incentive plans comply with internal risk management frameworks and external regulatory expectations (e.g., fair lending, sales practices, compensation governance). Serve as the primary liaison with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Audit. teams for all incentive and equity related matters. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions regarding plan design and administration.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems pertaining to incentive and executive compensation programs and administration.
  • Responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.


ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:
  • Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.
  • Minimum experience required: 8+ Years Progressive compensation and analytics and design experience (Specific to compensation program design, compensation analysis, process improvement and documentation and sales/incentive compensation or stock administration).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Workday Compensation experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with numbers and large volumes of data with accuracy and speed.

  • Proven leadership experience managing complex incentive programs across multiple lines of business.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance as it relates to compensation in the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels, drive cross-functional initiatives, and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Expertise in data analysis and performance measurement tools; proficiency in Excel, Power BI or similar tools a plus.
  • Experience with HR systems and compensation platforms preferred.
  • Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
