Job Summary:

The Cooper Standard CAE team in Northville, Mi has an opening for an Intern to work with the CAE team to help us reach our Increasing CAE analysis goals.

This Summer Intern position for 2026 will allow you to understand CAE technology and support the CAE team as they work toward Virtual Validation of testing of automotive weatherstrips, fuel and brake systems, and fluid transfer systems as well as automating processes to allow CAE engineers to streamline workflow and eliminate nonvalue added activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will write Python code to search and organize results from multiple databases.
  • Will Create a GUI search engine to extract pertinent data from databases.
  • Will utilize machine learning to filter data using Python code.
  • Create algorithm to train AI to search databases for relevant data.
  • Will be collecting data from Lab test request system and organizing data into a readable format to create SN Curves
  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
Education and Qualifications:
  • 2nd or 3rd year level student
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer sciences at university with a minimum 2.8 GPA
  • Can work remotely, may require an occasional on-site meeting (very infrequent).
  • Python Programming experience is a must.
  • AI and machine learning experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of databases.


Work Environment/Work Conditions:
  • Office environment with occasional Lab / Testing Environment
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor.
